So we are ready.... - by Bozena

So we are ready to depart for our tour of immersion to media and technology sector in Poland. Tomorrow all class will hop on planes with destination to Krakow – one of the most (if not the most) beautiful cities in Poland, cultural and intellectual capital of the nation, and also an important hub for media and technology sector.

Twelve bright graduate students from the Gabelli School of Business are embarking on a trip that will be, without doubt, memorable. I (as their teacher) hope that it will also be full of learning moments.

Class members are all packed to be there physically, but they are also packed with knowledge to get them ready to be there intellectually.
Preparations started couple of weeks ago when each class member read a selection of articles on various aspects of Polish economy, media and managerial issues. Advance readings and listening to lectures about Poland was just the first step in this journey. The second step will focus on regularly reflecting on what they see and experience during the myriad of lectures, company visits, moderated discussions, sightseeing and meeting local students.

Each day on this pages you will be able to read those reflections, so please come back to our blog or sign to follow us by e-mail.
First posts are already here by James, John, Emily, Brittany and Wanxin. They all have ambitious goals and expectations about this class journey.
Visual snippets will also be posted on Instagram – just follow us @fordhamgsbinpoland or tune to #fordhamgsbinpoland on Twitter.

I am truly excited and ready to GO on the journey of learning with students, rather than to TAKE them on that journey.  I aspire to help students enhance their understanding of the subject matter, encourage them to ask and challenge current perceptions and finally to articulate those lessons learned. It is easier said than done, so wish me luck.

… and come back to read more.
