Up, Up and Away

Traveling abroad gives such an in depth look into the exciting aspects that foreign cultures have to offer. Each destination presents a unique adventure with plenty to delve into. As we embark upon our trip to Poland, I am excited to uncover the social norms and progressive mindsets of the Polish people. Exposure to students my age will give invaluable insight into how they think and operate, compared to the relatively sheltered mindset many American students have. Comparing the two ways of thinking and cultural aspects, specifically among the millennial age group is an eye opening, learning experience that is unparalleled to learning in a classroom. I am eagerly looking forward to hearing their perspectives and views over the next week.

Outside of the students’ perspectives, I can’t wait to be exposed to the innovation in the media and technology industry. Since I work in this industry, I am surrounded everyday by the change and adaption that the U.S. market faces. But, as my job is focused on the domestic market, I haven’t had much insight into where Europe and the rest of the world sit in this marketplace. Because of this, I am thoroughly excited to engage in conversation with the Polish innovators in this space.

Overall, this journey presents many opportunities to learn, to interact and to participate in an adaptive and impressive foreign market, opening the doors to invaluable knowledge and insight that I would never have the opportunity to experience outside of this study tour.
